Farm Stand:  The farm stand is finished!  We will be open this weekend and will have apples (Red Delicious, Baldwin, and Smokehouse), honey, a limited number of oyster mushrooms, potatoes and heirloom tomatoes.

First shiitake mushrooms!

Mushrooms:  This week we saw our first log-grown Shiitake mushrooms!  Hopefully as the weather becomes more seasonably cool we will see more in the coming weeks.  We also saw a nice flush of gray oysters on our totems.

Grains:  Managed to get the 4 acres of winter wheat and rye planted.  Now just waiting on some rain to water it!  The majority of the rye will be a cover crop, but we will try to harvest some next summer.  We aspire to become no-till, but the first step to do it organically is controlling the existing grasses and weeds through episodic surface tilling and the use of cover crops

Apples: We picked the last of the Macoun and most of our Smokehouse apples.  The Red Delicious and Baldwin apple trees are loaded with fruit and they are outstanding this year.
